just want to know about your gas burning

Hello you fellow Rocket III maniacs ( lol !! ), hello you fellows of "the beast" WAW
as a Rocket 3 Roadster 2012 maniac myself, just wanted to know about YOUR own gas burning statistics ......
just this about me : I am burning with that beast a 9 to 10 liters of gasoline 95 per 100 km. ... more 10 than 9 .....
well knowing this is a 2300 cc. machine bigger than lots of car engines .....

So what about you and your amount of gasoline burning over 100 km. ???

you have to know that the only thing that I like is NOT the speed of the beast but the accelerations zero to 100 km/h ( on normal roads .... )
so I usually trottle the max up to 80 / 100 in the shortest time and then cool down ..... lol
lots of town driving also, 1/4 on highway .......

I never went up above the 170 km/h ..... maybe one day when I will be in Germany this summer ....

So : is it too much ? I would prefer maximum 8 liters .... never mind, this is my toy and I love it !!

but I wonder why such engines with all of the electronics are burning so much .....

possible via TuneEcu to diminish the quantity ??

I remember with my bike R60 BMW in the years 1970 and my Ford Capri 1600 (car ! lol ) I always had very CLEAR grey exhausts but with my Rocket it stays dark grey .......................

since there are liters and imperial and gallons and miles and kilometers, I get a headache trying to convert.

My 2005 standard Rocket 3 with TORS.
Here in the USA I get 35 miles in a standard gallon.
Worst ever was 25 MPG and best was 47.

I calculate for 30 in a 5 gallon tank for normal everyday driving. For land cruising (TOURING) I ride not more than two hours (MAX) on the arse and then get gas. Still about 150 miles between fillups.
If the light comes on you possibly have 1 gallon (25 miles) before dry.

The tank is 6.6 technically, but there are a dozen threads on the debate of how much USEABLE gas is in the tank.

As far as modifying the fuel air, I would keep it in the middle/standard.

I have had many friends that lean out their bike and burn through it.

I don't notice much of any smoke/burn from the bike. I'm never behind it. It might just be road dust?

Before I had the Carpenter job done I was getting about 33 miles per gallon at fast highway speeds (80-90mph). After the Carpenter upgrade, I expected a marked diminution of the mileage. Not the case! I am getting 41 MPG now.
Far better mileage with far better performance!!

The American gallon is 3.8L, the European gallon, 4.5L so yeah there's maths to do working in MPG! Euros will get much better figures.. apparently!
Can you lean out using tune ECU? yeah, I used to do it ( with Tuneboy) can be done safely by JUST leaning out 3-6%fuel over 2k revs to 3.2k revs & all UNDER 25% throttle. This is the main area where you'll be cruising, & fuel will be normal on hard/full acceleration, so no burn danger under load.Riding the bike will tell you if you've over leaned these areas, it will just not feel right/sound right...experimentation will find you the sweet spot.

My 2005 Classic burns about 6.5-7 liters per 100 km
my 2013 Roadster burns 5.9-6.5 liters per 100 km but it doesn't go as smooth as the 2005 rocket
This is with speeds not much over 100 km/h and a good acceleration.
It also depends of the quality of the fuel you are using.
There is one local gas station where i will use 8 liters per 100 km. Needless to say that I am no longer getting fuel from there.

George - I too have a 2012 Roadster - if you like acceleration you need to either sell it and buy a 2013 or later Roadster or somehow persuade your dealer to put the standard triumph tune from 2013 onwards into your 2012 bike. Apparently Triumph inexplicably decided to limit the first 3 gears on our Roadsters but then changed their minds. The bikes are world's apart.
Triumph dealers in the UK say that Triumph will not allow them to put the latest tune in older bikes (imagine if microsoft or Apple said that).
I suspect that the latest tune does not negatively affect fuel consumption because when you look at the fuel/air maps they are identical.
I was getting about 44mpg (UK) from my 2012.

I have absolutely no idea what the true economical gas mileage is of my Carpenterized Rocket. I would say on average I see 28 miles per gallon; because I cannot discipline myself to ride it in a sedentary mode. It is a curse that I have to live with. Like living with a nymphomaniac.

what ??? 44 miles per UK gallon ??? that means 6,5 liters per 100 km !!!!! hey lucky man, cann't understand how your beast can be so less gasoline burning compared to mine with 9 à 10 liters ... djesus, this is a big difference ...
Adam also has 41 miles per gallon .....
I have TORs is it that that can make such difference ???
