Just ordered a 205/60/16 Altimax HP

i think its a avs v rated
paid $120 and my ole lady has the same tire on her r3t

Thanks, I have been out looking at other bikes for 3 weeks, thinking I was going to trade but I couldn't find anything that I liked as well or any better. I still want to ride a cross country tourer but will probably just keep logging the miles on the R3T.

most of the service u can do yourself and is a lot cheaper

I guess I could if I had the time and tools, point is it was down earlier this year for 3 weeks and the part was only 3.40 but it took 3 weeks for it to come.

I do not want to be in the service business, i want to ride when I am off.

I have the same tire on my R3T. Love it!
Haven't had the rear end come around on me once since the DS. With the stock MT on the rear, the least little touch of the rear brake, and here she comes: rear wheel lock up and skid around. Don't have that problem with the DS. Handing, wear, braking...all are superior to MT.

I'm not going back, that 's for sure.

BTW, I run my Altimax at 40 psi. Ditto for Metzeler on front.

Thanks for the heads up. I was hoping to have it on before I go to Arkansas next week but the warehouse just shipped it today, probably will be too late.

I've got the same tire and run 34 psi, and same bike. With 2,000 miles I can't tell a bit of differance from the Metz. I'm 'bout 200 lbs, if that makes adifferance. It won't slip or slide, I did a tank slapper predawn one morning goin to work on a wet road with the Metz, the c/t ain't gonna do that! After the first tank of gas you'll be used to any differance between the two tires. I used weights for balancing, instead of beads. It took seven on one side and five on the other, the guy mounting used lots of soap, the tire and wheel were soaked when I picked it up. I've read that beads won't work right with soap inside, it'll gum up. Let us know how it goes, and good luck getting a cookie!!
