going to do some mods to the baffles....ran out of argon so I will have to wait to do the special tricks.....LOL

Yes they go all the way to the front of the muffler. the front end of the baffle is round with a small round bump....like it was hit with a ball ping hammer...about the size of a nickle...that causes it to from a tight wedge into the muffler

The baffle that I broke the end loose with the slide hammer....I rewelded it with a mig welder.....

I stuck the baffles back into the muffler this morning...started the ol Girl up an it sounded a bit better...I pulled one out with my fingers....the one I welded...

I missed a small bit of wire weld with a small ball on the end of it...it came loose and went down into the round end of the baffle.. one small piece of wire with a weld ball on the end....apx. 3/8 inch long and the ball was about the size of a pin head.

I tore the end of the baffle off again with the 8 lb slide hammer..used 2 pair of vise grips and a 2 lb. hammer and 30 min. later I got the dang thing out along with the small piece of weld wire........Oh YES....I cussed like a drunk sailor

I will stick to tig welding....

I am going to weld 2 ss nuts to each end of the baffle....to use them to pull the baffles out with out ripping the end off again. Plus I am going to cover the end of the baffle with a 2 1/4 section of exhaust pipe apx. 3 in. long...as seen in the last picture.

All the baffle material is 304 SS.....that makes it nice to work with

You can also try wrapping it only half way down the baffle which might mellow it out in town when you not thrashing her and let more by when you are. especially if the holes that are not covered are larger in size. hell you can cut half of it off shortening it just move that end piec further toward the rear so it keeps the baffle centered. and pop some large holes in it also. I also see just a metal stainless mesh wraped around it so it is more airrated less back presure. Mighthave to add some more fuel as it will evacuate faster. Just some ideas.

Thanks for the suggestions...good ones to think about

The ol Girl is stil running the pipes very black....smutty

Now it might be the Joy Juice I a feeding her......2 oz per gallon....108 juice:D
