I have decided to take the plunge. I will order the Jars from my dealer, and I have found a dyno guy in the Tampabay area who has the ability to learn Tuneboy. My question is.............do you think I should just get the Jars installed with the Triumph dealer loading the tune for them (or best tune) then go to the dyno and get Tuneboy sorted out................or will I need to do the under tank K&N first......before the dyno? Will it make much difference?

I am married to a very ..........uh..................frugal lady.........so you can only imagine all the $100. guns I had.... Probably gonna "get the oil changed" get home with Jars...........and say...."whaddaya talkin bout............always only had 2 pipes............jeeeeeeeeeeesh woman!"

Then I will have to bring home the originals in the cage, stack em in the garage and pretend they are old pipes from some dude that changed them. the fact the bike will run like a scalded dog..........well................she is afraid to ride with me anyway.

Any thoughts on the sequencing of this project........or anything I left out?

I would go ahead and let your dealer install the Jars, but you will be much

better off with the triple K&N setup. I can guarantee you at least 10 more

HP over the undertank setup. Either way you go, you will want to do all the

mods before you get the tuneboy sorted and dyno.

It is really amazing what accessories I can whip up in my shed by making suitable mechanical noises, My Squeeze thinks I am the greatest fabricator that ever lived.....hehe

Now that is clever.

I usually resort to 'I picked up this amazing deal on e-bay'.

When you add the triple K&N setup do you have to remove the bearclaw, how does riding in the rain effect the setup?

This is the way I did mine. Some guys leave theirs completely open, which

may be a problem in the rain. While others shim theirs out a little to

accommodate the K&Ns. I have had no problems so far when I get caught

in the rain, but I do try to avoid it as much as possible.

Thanks Jethro, could you give me the part #'s for the K&Ns, what you used to fasten them to the throttle body, and anything else that I might need to make the conversion?
