Jardine/Gipro/Power Commander/stock air box, Dyno Run


Very interesting Mike because two dealers I deal with recommend the PCIII. The dealer in Houston I bought the bike from and also the dealer in Boerne. Maybe it's because they can't load a tune or fiddle with it after you have a PC III installed!

That dip is common at 2-3000 rpm and can be ironed out by adding fuel to that specific rpm range with tuneboy, pc111 adds fuel across the whole range so what ya see is what you get.
 
looks like youv'e got a good one Steve S ,i know from experience that all engines are different,i had 2 vmaxii and the first made 118 rwhp and the second with 128 rwhp both with the same set up. :wink:
 

Mike, the BHP numbers are measured at the back wheel on a rolling road as opposed to factory claims usually at the crankshaft which is then partly lost through the transmission.
Not sure what your dealer was offering you as Triumph dealers usually only have 4 factory tunes for Triumph exhausts, all the PC3 does is modify the stock ECU outputs before the injectors.
 

It's good to have it in reserve in case she changes her mind, but it looks great with the Fast Gun on it. 8)

I checked it was you because I wanted to thank you for the customised pillion (you made a cracking job of that, by the way) you part exed for it. My wife lost interest too so I didn't put it on originally but now we're separated I've installed your pillion in case I come across a bint who like to be frightened. :wink:

I couldn't fit a standard sissy bar because of the Motoplan bodywork, and it would look too big on mine anyway, but I think you old one is just right. No one in their right minds is getting on the back of mine without something to stop em fallin off the back. :lol:

No, Triumph of Tacoma. They also use Tuneboy there.

Last week while in Wisconsin visiting a friend who owns a performance shop in Green Bay, I asked him about any risks associated with the PC3. He had to acknowledge that conceptually there are but he's seen few if set up and installed properly. Jim likes the PC3 but he uses them in competition drag bikes. He asked me why I wanted so much power? He took my Rocket for a test ride when I rode across country in 2007. He got off it with the comment "You better be careful or that **** things gonna kill you." :lol:

Thanks Steve. It is setting on the work bench next to the Jards. The installation instructions look pretty simple. I've also got the O2 eliminator. I believe that's what it is called.
 
Steve, I forgot to add that I believe he was suggesting a Tune Boy.

Will do Marcus. It is my plan to fit the Jards tomorrow. It looks to be a fairly straight forward operation to install them but dismantling the stock system looks a bit more complicated. I'll do a 12 minute tune. I'm not going to install the the PC3 just yet though. I must admit to regret at having sold my Tune Boy. I know Owl will agree with me on that.
 
Mike, if you are fitting the Jardines I would fit the PC3 as well or it will be running weak, its a simple plug in job under the tank, load the Jardine map from the Dynojet website and it will be near enough to use.
