I had a lift that I am able to use each side independently
I would just use the oil pan and the cat box.
No issues. It's actually why I kept the cat box other than cost when I had to remove my cats.
Imo if you dont have a independent dual post lift, skip the dumb motorcycle lift you can get anywhere like at harbor frieght and just get a axle stand

I use a hydraulic lift similar to this:

I lift at the sump area. I try to make sure that I spread the load around the rim/edge of the sump which tends to keep the bike stable on the lift.
A lift of this kind needs to be locked off and not held up by the hydraulic ram.

I use a Big Blue lift. Overkill for storage, but very handy for maintenance when you get home. Plus it doesn't use hydraulics so no concerns about that.

I have the Big Blue also and it is set up for my Rocket, but easily adapted for my Indian bikes. It raises and lowers with a drill, so dropping tires is much easier.
I just bought a big blue did you also get the Rocket specific attachments? Mine came with what looks to me to be some universal lifting arm attachments with rubber pads.

Yes, lifting arm with rubber attachments plus measurements for the Rocket. It works well, and I use tie down straps as recommended.

Ive used the cheap harbor freight jack about 285 times with success, removing tires, the engine multiple times, lifts balances every time so far. So far haven’t needed anything else to accomplish this. Maybe one day i will come across a big blue fabricated by a good pal!
