There has always been a large percentage of Harley owners that are blindly one-eyed towards their brand. There are a smaller number of Harley riders that do appreciate other brands of motorcycles .. maybe the difference is owners and riders ;)

Can't say as I know many Harley riders, but I'd suspect they'd be at least as brand loyal as any other, probably more so. When your bike's reputation is based more on mystique than performance, rational evaluation is likely not your strong suit.

That said, I've likely felt that any bike I've owned over the last 50 years or so was the best one there was at the time. Guess rational evaluation isn't my strong suit either.

If I were in your shoes, Mac, I'd keep my powder dry, smile and shake my head up and down in complacent consent with the HD guys' bloviations and see if you might find a member or two there that can handle and agree with the stark reality, i.e., that the build quality and overall performance of your R3 is vastly superior to any of their cloned donkeys. Why bother trying to burst the bubble of the entire herd if you can identify and commiserate with a few honest or rational friends.

If you cannot find a principled compatriot, I'd go looking for a better club with significantly more discriminating membership standards.:D

whites usually stick with whites greens with greens blacks with blacks (dont have a clue where this going)i can and do ride with harleys hondas yamahas hondas etc. its the people i care to ride with good and bad no matter what/who im sure if there was more triumphs than harleys it might be reversed again I CHOOSE PEOPLE OVER THE BIKES

My experience is a brotherhood. Sure, we talk bikes and war stories when we are in and out of clubhouses and swap meets with fellow bikers because that's the thread that holds our community together. When it's just us we are talking about our families, work, problems......just doing life together. Of course, this happens when we are pulling a scoot apart for some new paint. Maybe it will just take time and doing more than getting together a couple times a month to make noise! Offer to help one of the Harley boys wire some accent lights on his Hog. Someday you will get to the point when you can "zip-tie" a set of training wheels on their Street Glide and nobody wants to fight!!!

Harleys are of no concern to me. My rocket blows them away. My Street triple 675cc does it too. My Norton was dominate until the Z1. Harley is all noise and no go.

With the exception of Guzzi Dan, my main riding buddy, most all my friends who ride, ride Harleys. I've never heard a bad word from them about any of my bikes, 2 have refused to ride the Rocket, because "they were afraid they'd like it so much they'd have to buy one".

Edit: One I believe, the other I think was just being polite, he never goes over 50 mph, I think he's afraid of it.

about half the guys in our club are on harleys,
they give a ration of crap to the ones on hondas, yamahas, and kawasakis,
but they all know who rides the fastest bike in the bunch.;)
They talk their crap about harley this an harley that,
an I just smile....
we went to another chapters clubhouse opening,
and their fastest bike there wanted to go.
it was a new high-powered v-rod, so,,,,;)
