stupid slick
My mates mostly ride Hardleys, mines not the only Triumph, just the only Rocket in our crew .They show my ride alot of respect, i am always the the 'go to guy' when some jappa needs to be dealt with.If the boys were honest, they would admit that the reason they dont have one is coz only one or two could handle it like i do.I ride hard, i ride fast.I learnt a valuable lesson one beautiful sunday arvo.I sat at the back of about 15 bikes, sort of like a hawk about to descend on a flock of pigeons....sure enuff 2 of the boys peeled out of formation, making a run for the front of the pack, on a long straight..I joined the chase from about 1 km back.throttle jammed wide open i closed the gap.Ripping past the other bikes,I took the closest bike first, he didnt realise i was there till i flew past.We were easily doing in excess of 100mph.The second bike (Warren) had seen me comin and wasnt about to yeild. He proceeded to make his fatbob even 'fatter'.The road was tightening up into a series of medium to tight 70mph max corners. I was now hard on his ass, lookin to get around him. Neither of us had eased off our speed. I was gettin showered with sparks and **** from his pegs, and now mine were scraping. I was also using the other oncoming lane, more than i was comfortable with.Warren was using the whole road and came very close to running off into roadside gravel then the trees. The road straightened out and i shot past..........later ,over a beer we were talking about it.It dawned on me.....i had pushed my mate to the point that, had he crashed, I would have been responsible.I almost pushed him beyond his ability to control his bike.I too, was at the limits of my riding ability.I apologised for being so stupid.....i no longer ride this way. If i want to blast, i do it on my own......its funny tho,how after a mile or two doing this the pack catches up, and i dawdle back, somewhere, into line.
