Interesting Oil Test

Pig,
Actually I am putting together a dyno test of various MC specific oils and will include a 3000 mile road test with oil analysis on the top two performing oils.

AliSyn, Brad Penn, Royal Purple, Amsoil, and Mobile 1 will all be included using 10w-40 weights. Plus I am letting another forum pick two oils to add to the test for a total of 7 oils to be tested.

Right now I am in the process of ordering the oils (a couple of them I already have), and waiting on the other forum to choose the two oils to add.

Post up if there is anything specific you want to see in the test.

List will show this I bet

(1) Amsoil
(2) Royle
(3) Penn, depending on the type and if Syn.
(4) Mobile

We did a exstewnsive oil resurch here at work and found some interesting things out.

Actually Royal doesn't do so hot - good power numbers, but poor protection.

Gonna share your "exstewnsive oil resurch"?

It would be nice to include Motul in that test. I have used their oils a lot in race engines and they do very nicely in terms of wear resistance. If a captain come thru the shop and we change oil I usually put in the 5100 in a 10/40.Owners report better gearshifting as an aside.

Nev- I have noticed on the two Hinckley Triumphs I have had that the tranny is the first to show the signs of aging oil. I couldn't imagine going the recommended 10K mile intervals on the Rocket. For me it gets noticeable at 5Ks. If you have had good results I would be courious to see how Motul holds up to shearing.
