I'm going for it men.....

What do you mean IF you get it done??????????

I procrastinated all winter about getting them installed. For some insane mental reason, I don't like doing handlebars :?

Take the tank off first, or put a REALLY HEAVY blanket on it.

Are you still up for a ride tomorrow?

Yep, used the wife's snuggy blanket (with her unknowing....) of course. And yes, I would like to go for a ride tomorrow; need to check the Doppler in the morning for a possibility of rain. Supposed to be nice, but you know how Maryland weather can be.... :-|

There'll be tears.

Files, angle grinders, hammers - Go!

Ha, did not have to resort to heavy handed means.

I am proud to report that "I got 'er dun"

1. I did not "bend" anything with a Harbor Freight "piece -O- chit" torque wrench
2. I did not "chip" anything; unlike my poor front fender when I first installed my Clearview windshield. Right after I got my Rocket.
3. I did not have to; nor even contemplated, the utterance of a single cussword while engaged in the T-Bar installation operation.

Here are some pic's:

I like the position of the bars like this. My wrists are going to feel A LOT better; more of a natural position for them.

I posted a long time ago about the sloppy welds that I though were going to interfere with the control housing position(s) on the T-Bars. I had nothing to worry about after all, there's actually more than enough space to install the housing without running out of room for the hand grips:

You can see the supplied bracket that came with the T-Bars to mount the Triumph gauges. Was not sure how to install it (it was bent) so just have it set up like this for now. Will screw around with it in a couple of days and see if I can move the position of the gauges towards the bars. Sadly, I will have to remove the gauges in order to lift the tank now. :|

..good job old chap..lol..I've got mine mounted on Rivco risers..had to get a 3" over brake line for that..if you do that Mexican, or anyone else, just get 2" over from Speigler..3" is a bit to much..and Will, I put the gauges up on top of the handlebars..get yourself a 1&1/2" P clamp from Kuryakyn and make a bracket for the gauges to fasten it to..there is enough wire for that without having to cut and splice..

They look great!!! A few questions if you don't mind,
Are they the same height and in the same spot as the old ones?
I have been thinking about risers to bring the bars 2" back, i really like the way yours look!!!
where did you get them?
brand?
price?
they just look great in my opinion!!!!!!!

..Mexican, I got mine from Thunderbike I think..they are $300..newr3 also has them..get the 1&1/2"..not the 1&1/4"..I'm 5'10", and I needed the Rivco risers along with the T bars for my own comfort level..and of course the riders backrest from Utopia..get ta crackin' man..spring time is here !!..

Rkt88 mentioned Thunderbike... and that's where I purchased them from last year. I had a few concerns about them when I received them, but Thunderbike's customer service was top notch and willing to go the distance... so I kept them (the concern I had was the welds on the portion of the handlebar ends where I was going to mount the control housing... proved not to be an issue after all).

The T-Bars easily adjust once you get everything together (leave the bracket holding the Triumph gauges unbolted) until you move the bars back and forwards to your liking. The height of the bars is the same as the stockers (if you adjusted both of them to the same angle). What is better about the T-Bars (besides the look) is that they bars are a little swept forward on the ends, so you are not bending your wrists inward; which is uncomfortable.

I have rods and screws in my lower back; and can't lean forward for very long; and I was worried that the T-Bars were going to excaberate my possibility of lower back pain. Maybe that was why I procrastinated so long in getting them mounted. However, I've been on and off my bike for a bit, and my posture is about the same, as was with the stock Classic bars.

Here is the link to the T-Bars: http://www.thunderbike.co.nz/shopn/spi/429373874/tbike_3__RO3 There is also a chap (holy chit, I'm talking British :D ) who makes them as well; if you search the board for T-Bars, you'll find posting about him.

Get them.
