Ignition Switch Replacement

Wow. Looks like it just broke clean out as if the solder never fused to two points. Hopefully you'll be sorted. Sounds like you got your switch out WAY easier than I did. Mine was secured by busted off security bolts with no heads. Ugh, it was such a pain.
 
..those two little ****ed up screws came loose on mine..what a stroke of luck..I took them out with my fingers and replaced them with allen head bolts..also got the headlight relay kit from eastern beaver put in before the switch failed..thank you again gothlander for bringing this to everyone's attention..
 

No thanks necessary I am glad to help out. One thing to note is that when you change from low-beam to high-beam the rocker switch will allow both beams to light for a moment. This I think is the trigger for the ignition switch to blow because of the extra current draw of both beams on an already taxed circuit.

Thanks Goth...that's good to know - I'll try to keep off the high beams until I get a chance to install the headlight relays (no point in stressing a freshly soldered connection).
