Ignition switch - is this a good fix

I received my kit just prior to departing on my Route 66 ride and it still sits on my workbench waiting for me to use it to fry my electrical system.

I have visited my Triumph dealer in Taunton and they spent some time going through the electrics on the bike, the bike has already had the Triumph mod done. They eventually found that the main connector from the ignition switch to the loom was faulty. As Triumph only sell a complete loom and the bike is out of warranty I told them to go ahead with a bypass made of bullet connectors with heat shrink around them to keep the water out. Here's the offending item:

 I have to double check !!!!!! - Triumph only sell a complete loom - even if its just a connector thats gone south? Surely not.
