How to reset service wrench?

My service wrench came on today. I have 8000 miles before it needs one. The date says 31 days till service. Why won't it let me reset the date which is obviously wrong.

Is the correct date and time set up in your dash? Have you disconnected your battery recently, if so, the date and time needs to be reset and the wrench goes away. Tune ECU is the other method of resetting the service wrench.

The light goes out 10 seconds after it starts. The date and time are right, but the date for service is wrong and it wont let me change it.
