How many miles you get out your rear pads

I have about 8,500 miles on my bike and the rear pads are at their limit. Whats your average mileage you get out of your pads? My front pads look pretty good still, I do use my rear brake quite a bit.


I've also noticed the floating rear rotor seems to be a lot looser than it used to be and is slightly warped so I'm going to see if I can get them to replace it under warranty. Think I'll replace my pads first so they don't try to say thats what warped the rotor. Its unlikely they would but you never know.

 
Depends how you use it. Some people are rear brake users, others try to do the right way, and do rear+front matched. Some live on the edge and just use the front brake, suddenly.

So, your milage will vary.
 
I got 12k out of mine and I would say that I am a regular user of the foot operated rear deceleration device, while openly acknowledging the primary importance and more powerful effect of the two up front.........so..........my conclusion is that 12k is probably likely to be achievable to the majority of spirited, yet mature headed riders out there.

That said, I am increasingly finding myself (this summer) using much less rear in favour of the front end anchors.

I think i'm gradually evolving more into a Rocket rider ahead of being a 'ride all sorts in all conditions' sort of rider.....I don't really know for sure, but i'm finding that i'm not requiring the balancing effect of the rear brake at speed in the corners as the bikes natural engine braking does a better job than my right foot and so i'm just letting the bike do it's own thing a bit more and I have to say that so far i'm finding that the bike handles just as well without my right foot joining the party quite as much.......so.....I think I could easily go more miles on the current set of rear pads........Might need to change the front ones more often though....🤔

P.S. I ride mainly in the hills with twisty roads, and they include many junctions, so the brakes are fairly busy at their day job, when i'm out and about.

- A floating rotor is two piece brake disc and the outer steel ring is physically separated from the inner hub mounted carrier ring, connected instead by small loose fasteners called rivets or bobbins.


its bad steel quality from brembo

my OEM rear rotor free play is way worse than yours and I have tried replacing all other tiny parts like spring washer, nut etc except rear rotor

I reached out to ebc to make aftermarket rear rotor for Rocket 2.5 and they have released their product after 1.5 years

I will never put OEM rear rotor again on rears
