how do I tell if it's a gel seat

Gel seats are shiney black, where non gel seats are matted black.
I have 2 seats - longhaul gel dual -----shiney black and longhaul dual with rider backrest --- matted black.
I use backrest on longer trips or when my back is acting up and the the other for shorter distances.
Yes its a pain to swap seats but gotten it down to about 3 mins or so for the swap.
