Made a home made version of this
Shorty Exhaust for the New Triumph Rocket III

Got 2 exhaust pipe expansions that slip over
cat bypass pipe ( 1 5/8" expansion ID)
Then cut just short enough that , I could bolt in
the 2 baffles , but leave 90% of baffle hanging out

Capped off ( blanked ) 3 rd bypass pipe opening

INTERNAL BAFFLES : JC Whitney: Motorcycle Parts & Accessories

Got some chrome exhaust heat shield bits free
to hide exposed log header
Then after everything looked good with chrome bits
added over the straight run after the curve
this
Targa Sportbike Exhaust Heatshields - Motorcycle Superstore
Then got 3 a racing exhaust tip
4 " round slant cut stainless resonator tip
62 - 2407 , if you look tip up picture don't show slant ( 15 deg )
also don't show inside of tip ( look nothing like on net )
actually looks very good !

IMO my homemade version look way cleaner
and sounds better and looks sportier
Cost :
2. expansion pipes to adapt baffles = $ 12.00
2. baffles $ 8.00
chrome heat shield bit were free for me
1 Anodized red heat shield $ 34.00
2. 3A racing exhaust tips $ 48.00 including tax
Total = $ 102.00 :D
No picture as of yet
Lost a bunch of weight and it seems to be running a bit quicker

PS: if you do a line of sight from front of bike
to rear, exhaust tips stick out about 2 1/2 " shorter
then front foot pegs

Tease...

Ya sure Drag...tell us all about "how too", "better sound", "lighter weight", "cheaper bling", "how much".......and not one pic for eye candy:mad:

Some of us still remember what we called young ladies who used to tease us, con us into a date, and then wear a dress with forty buttons down the front....:D:D:D....SB.

yea I sure can't wait to see this. Hows she sound?
What did you do about a tune?
The rest of my questions, I'll wait till you post a pic or two.
Maybe the pics will answer all of em, doubt it tho.

Different pipes

Don't we have to change our computer mapping if we change exhaust restriction?

Stripes,
Welcome aboard. Glad to have you with us.
There are lots of Texas captains here.
Denton Tx huh?
Been there, spent a little time there one year
along time ago.
So, what ya got?
Standard, Classic, or R3T?
Color?
To answer your question. Yep. I believe thats right, at least thats what I've been told, even if you get TORs I believe you have to change it.
But you may only have to change it if you get the cat box eliminator too, but I don't have them, so I'm not sure about that.
Anybody want to chime in here with some expertise?
But I'd certainly think a homemade exaust would call for a remapping.
Again, welcome, from the right side of the river.:)
That'd be OKLAHOMA

Welcome Stripes

Hey Stripes, I'm originally from Ft. Worth and have been to Denton numerous times, but it's so close to Ok. that I'm afraid of being sucked into Ok., because we all know that it sucks...:D Just kidding Skip. I now live in the Stephenville area, so lets try to hook up some time. What dealership do you use?
