Took my first ride on the Rocket today.....HOLY CRAP!!!! What a beast! Loved every minute of it too. I do have to get a riders back rest soon though.
Is that becasue you don't trust your arm strength?

I can't remember the darn name; but, the one I got from HansO is working great for me and I would recommend it.
Help me out with the name here, Mates.

Congrats on the new bike! Looks like you have the Touring? I rode mine for several yrs always with the windshield on and never needed the backrest, Once I got the Roadster and put on the fly screen the backrest became much appreciated on the long rides.
Must be my girly arms...... :D

If you can find the Triumph Long-Haul Saddle and it's companion backrest on E-bay, as I did, that's the way to go. I found them 4 years ago and paid for the combination - less than I would have paid for the saddle itself.

I have been in contact with Utopia. They have a back rest for the R3 Classic but not the Tourer. Ill be sending them a spare Tourer seat to see if they are the same. If not he may do a R/D project and make one up for the Tourers.

I need to get more familiar with this bike. For years I was used to wrestling my Venture around turns so I found myself doing the same with the Rocket. Thats not a good thing. This bike handles so much nicer then my old Venture. Thats going to take some getting used to. You cant just "power" yourself out of a turn with this bike, but I think you all know what I mean......

Congrats on your Rocket, my friend.

"Holy crap" was my first post after my first ride, as well!

A statement like that needs no further explanation.
