Welcome Mavreg from New Zealand. I just bought my 2016 Roadster...costs $NZ28500.00 here ride away.
You will absolutely love it..trust me!..Treat it with respect and you will never stop grinning!!
I was at the dealership today and made an advance payment. Will get the bike in one week when I pay the full price.
Looked at the bottom pan once again, two times - cold and warmed up. Discovered no cracks or oil leakage. I only found some oil stains (not wet really, almost dry) in the area of the oil filter and beneath the filter, on the pan, near the scratch. But I guess this is normal? I think I had the same thing on all my previous motorcycles.
My guess is when the oil was changed last, some oil ran down when the oil filter was removed. Some of it didn't get wiped off, and the wind blew it back under the engine.
You may find some residue running down in different places once the motor is, or has been hot. There will be spots of grease, cosmoline and other manufactures oils on the motor. When it gets hot,it will get oily and run down...not all the way to the ground but it makes you wonder what the hell it is. I know this cos I have just been thru the same scenario. Get some white spirits and give it a good spray then dry it off with an air gun if you can. It will dry good and clean....Job done!...worry gone...Ride on!!
