I put these helmet pins on my rocket.

There is some slight play but I don't think it will cause any excessive wear. I had to use two thin washers on the bottom nut to pull the components to gether. But they look and work fine.

Gives me a better place to hang my hat.

I'm sure there are lots of other parts like this that will crossover and fit our rockets. Would be nice to start a listing of them and how well they work.

Another comes to mind. The oil temp dipstick from a 2000-2007 harley softail will fit the rocket. Even the low oil mark lines up. However, there is no high oil mark.

I've noticed that the two ring thingies (highly technical term) you thread your helmet strap through to secure it to your head are two different sizes.

The larger of the two ring thingies actually fits over the knob end of the front brake lever.

Just like the helmet pins at the link you've given, a small padlock can be fitted just behind the knob end of the brake lever after the helmet ring thingie is fit over the knob end. The small padlock will be large enough to prevent the helmet ring thingie from bypassing it and sliding off the brake lever. You can pick up the little locks at a hardware store or swap meet for a couple of bucks.

I didn't buy the locks. I knew I would never use them. Too much trouble. I was just looking for a quick and simple place to hang my helmet.

I usually slide it over the sissy bar, but I know in time that would wear the vinyl. It did on my adventurer.

My helmet is a size XXL, not too many people would care to steal it. At least I've never had a problem with that. Even at the bike rallies.

Um, assuming you did not use the "bighead" cheat code and your body is proportionate to your head, I doubt anyone would dare to steal it and I'd bet you could just leave it on the seat.
