Hellfire Tribute Patch

i agree with skip bout hellfires tat for a patch

I agree with gusto. I want one.

I've been bummed all day. Told my family what I knew of him and my fondness for his viewpoints and expertise.

I also agree about nixing the flowers to the Mrs. I was not a member of his inner circle but it seemed obvious his wife was at or near the epicenter of his crushing travails. I may be wrong in this. Phil may have a better take, I do not know. I do remember vividly how distant and indifferent Jared's widow (my son-in-laws' deceased twin brother) was to us all after his fatal fall. All she seemed interested in was connecting up with one last payday from Grandma Luber...and then she executed a quick exit into eternity. Never to be heard from again. Probably something like this dynamic, but we cannot be certain. More's the pity if so. My sympathies are with those who loved this man.

yes, i miss my friend....now as to my many other family members, i am ordering the custom made memory patches for hellfire, i have all the dates an etc., my friend vanessa whom made our other memory patches is making them. I need to know who all wants them an how many, you can view them in uncle jesse site, under the patch thread. Yes, i can get his tatt into a patch an believe me i would love to, but......under all state laws if we were to do this, its a long legal process, the reason being, its called infringement rights. In other words, kelley an whomever did his tattoo own all legal rights to it. Its gonna be a 1000.00 fine per patch an we would have to remove them, unless...we have the signed forms ( which i have some at the office), giving us legal usage rights of the tatt by both hellfire ( which i am so totally sure, he would be honored) an i can get his bypassed with the judge here.... But we would also have to go thru the same steps with whomever done the tatt as he is the only legal owner of said design. I would like everyones input, i say we go on an get the memory patch right now an if enough agrees, i will take up getting a release on the original design of hellfires an his artist...this will take some time an travel, unless someone can help out up towards where kelly got it done, i will take care of the legalities, paperwork an such. It can be done, but if we dont do it right, then we lose our patch, ( to hell with the 1000.00, i will gladly pay that fine for my friend), an our special place an design of kelleys, an that would break my already broken heart!!!! We would talk late at night with skip an a few other night owls an i miss him greatly, lupe, (mexican), an i have been hoping all day that it was a mistake an we will see him in the spring as promised, but alas it shall not be.........:(

Art is endlessly redundant my dear sister. Never is art created in a vacuum. It is a reflection of its era and times: "in sito". To circumvent copyright violations one need only modify this art somewhat. It is done so often by tattooists it is really a matter of course. This fine design can be subtly changed and made an "original derivative" piece. It will be the thought behind the altered piece that will bind us all. The implicit message and memory.

DeAnna,
I can get them made from my patch people if you want me too.
The same ones that made the geezer patches, and they're high quality and reasonable.
They don't worry about copyright infringement,
they do what I ask and how we want it done.
i can get a price in the morning and we'll all have them in a couple of weeks.
I'm thinking 7 colors, 2 shades of blue, orange, red, yellow, black and white,
just like his tat, and 3" with 100% embroidery.
All 7 colors, 3" , 100% embroidery, for 100 will cost us around $400.00.
That's for the sewn border around the outside and an iron on backing.
that's from memory on the geezer patches,
add about another dollar for postage so we could get them for $5.00 each
just like all the patches I get done..
There's no profit , but then especially in this case, there shouldn't be.

i still have to see the obit. To believe it. This is f**** bs!!!!
If its true i'm in on a patch.
Like dracul said, you just have to change the art. Put in memory of kelly johannes (hellfire) with birth and death date on it.

ok guys, i will not decieve an change any artwork on a tatt, as that is the artist an owners proud single piece of art they own. It is not so easy to do this as you still chance infringement rights, if the original designer ever sees it, yes i can get them made, no problem, we would have them in about a month, but we will have to take kellys design an totally redo things on it around an use some color changes, i cant get disbarred over a simple thing as a signature! Im going on an order 5 of the other patches till we decide on if we want to really change the design kelly was so proud of or just get a little paperwork done an honor him as it should be? Just sayin, let me know what yall decide, im with ya!

im sorry guys, im not trying to be a *****, believe me i would order them right now, but is that really what hellfire would have wanted? Its simply a minor time of paperwork an i do believe kellys friend will give us subjected usage as only a memory patch an nothing further. This still lets him retain all rights an we will have to pay him a fee for usuage, this can all be stated in the agreement between the captains an the co-artist. Im in with whatever you chose, but nolton, sorry babe, but its the law. Its just the same as if the designer has a patent on it!

I don't think the tat artist was concerned with the copyright infringement when he did the Triumph logo:confused: That is who I would be afraid of, the company that has attorneys employed full time.

Plus he would have it copyrighted, not a patented, right???
