Headlight upgrade HID on fleabay

Anybody know if this is anygood/ got it fitted.

£49 is pretty reasonable if it improves the 2 and half candle power currently put out it would be worth the investment

Anyone know why the output is so poor on the Rocket? It has two headlights that look just about identical to the StreetTriple and I don't hear complaints about that. The Thunderbird has just one similar headlight and I haven't so far seen any complaints.
other R3 owners have said get the fog lights but they change the look of the front.
The bulb upgrade sounds a reasonable price but do they draw higher current and thereby risk blowing something?

Headlight HID upgrade

I would look into it carefully. Mine has the "simulated" HID bulbs in it. They are still only 2 1/2 candlepower but they are that cool blue color woo, woo ! They were in it when I got it. I wouldn't pay 50 cents for another set of these. Fred

Check the Fleabay ad again. I may be wrong but I think it is £49 per headlight. I have heard tell that a cheap and nasty HID kit can fry the bike's electrics if it goes tits up.

Check the HID power requirements, you'll be in for a surprise if you don't output enough power for the ballast and your lights shut off and on while you're riding.

You get what you pay for, so do some research.

I used these guys for a HID conversion on my old CBR1100XX and they were very good.

But, I don't think they make a dual ballast H4 system specifically for motorcycles.

I opted for 50 watt mini-lights. The result was about the same as what you drive on dims in a car. Very wide field of view and hitting the "brights" adds about another 40 feet of lit road. For $15.00 a very nice alternative to HID's.
