Got my first speeding ticket... ouch!

resulted in a high speed chase that I was not aware they were chasing me... held at gun point on the side of the road, shutting down the whole highway... Had to show up in court... got it thrown out since the lawyer I used plays golf with the judge, verdict was entrapment...

Very similar thing, but the cop was a local in East Texas of about 60 years old or so and he was pretty cool about the whole thing. He was more interested in talking about the Rocket than giving me a ticket. 120+ (I really wasn't paying much attention to how fast I was going once I hit the Ton mark, but still climbing) and was probably 5 miles or so out of his town when he caught up. There was a section of highway inside the city limits that went from 45 to 55 to 70 mph that was inside the city limits. When I saw the 55 mph sign i rolled on the throttle and started paying attention to riding the bike so no idea where he clocked me at. When I told him I didn't realize he was chasing me he laughed and made a comment about his POS cruiser. He may also have realized he was WAY outside his jurisdiction. We talked about the bike for about 10 minutes then he ducked his head toward his shoulder to listen to his radio, said goodbye and took off. I'm sure he had an URGENT call in his tiny little berg of about 1,000 souls that needed tending to so no firearms were used to subdue me

JM2C.. It might be worth your while to contest it. I got a $300 ticket here in Massachusetts and they tacked on another $50 to the head injury fund. I was at a stop light and a young kid in a Dodge Charger was trying to blow me off at the light a cop coming the other direction clocked the Charger at 70 mph in a 35 mph zone, and blamed it on me the Rocket rider. I saw her make a u-turn thinking she was going after the Charger...she pulled me over i got off my bike and was trying to explain the situation to her and she freaked out . I contested it and won. I lost a day in court and had to pay a $25 court fee,but it sure beats the alternative. Put on a suit coat and tie be polite, tell the judge you were testing your new turbocharger and it malfuctioned. Then again anyone who treats a machine like you do probably deserves it..;)

TRIIICK thanks for the laugh man! Great stuff, especially when he dumps it in the end. LOL!

And yes, I deserved it. I ain't gonna be that dude in the video. With my luck the cop that wrote my ticket would show up and tell the judge I was really going 72, not 65 like he cited me for and they'd lock me up!

Say to the policeman: "Officer, if I said you were a bastid, you'd lock me up, wouldn't you??"

Policeman says : "Yes, I would."

You: "Is there any law against me thinking it?"

Policeman: "No."

You: "Well, Officer, I THINK you're a bastid."

Not on a bike but many years ago I was driving my '72 Nova SS in Utah late at night. The speedo was pegged. I was going somewhere around 120. I'm pulled over and the cop says he clocked me going 80 and I can look at his display in the car if I want. I politely refused and accepted the ticket.

Police car pulled alongside a car driven by an old lady who was knitting at the wheel.
Policeman called out, "Pull Over, Pull Over!!!"
Old Lady answered, "No dear, Socks".
