ok i will more than likely going d/s tommorrow got a yokohama avid v4s 205-60-16
got the tire off tonite so i can get it changed tommorrow but after i got the tire off i put the c/t under the rear and not sure if it will fit after it goes on the rim cause the sidewalls was hitting the sides of the bike will i have to keep it under inflated to get it on
and skip your lifting pieces worked great

Why are all of my friends going D/S on me? First Gr3ywolf, now you, what next abd don't say me...........................

COOL,
glad they worked for you Jay.
I used em again myself last week I think it was.
Changed the oil in both bikes.
Man I'd love to see you guys.
Can't wait till Sept.
Y'all gonna be there ain't ya?

Ozzman,
you know you want to;).
Whats everybody else know you ain't figured out yet?
hmmm.
Won't be long, you and ole Lon will be the only ones left on them shi**y metzs....

no skip aint gonna be able to it in sept
just got the tire back on the bike tonite had to let the air out of it to get through will put the saddle bags back on tommorrow and try it out

Well Skip, the cost savings are certainly enticing. I would prefer to ride on one before I changed, kind of a look before you leap thang. The hard edge of the car tire still seems to look a bit daunting to me but then so did marriage and tried that twice even though I knew it wasn't a good idea..........................now that I made that analogy I am warming up the synapses and they are telling me to stay with my gut feeling.

I guess that since I made the decision to ride the worlds largest production motorcycle that I accepted the costs associated with it as well. I do not sit in judgement of those that have done it. I are just a Chicken S _ _ t at my age and state of mind, and since I have lost that(my mind) I better stay on the Metz.

Now ozzman,
I ain't above riding over an meeting you at STB and Rainmans place,
you can sure take her for a few hour journey then if you want.
Kinda get a feel for it.
It'd be second nature after about 30 minutes anyway.
I don't even notice the countersteer,
but a buddy of mine I went to church with last week
swapped out with his H-D ultra super duper something or other and after a couple of miles wanted to swap back.
Said the tire took to much work to throw it around.
I told him if we went another 10 minutes, he'd be use to it,
but he wanted his "safe" (slow) ride....
No accounting for taste.
Heck, just come to Arkansas in Sept and you can ride it all weekend.

Well guys Ime sure once Jay gets back home today we will take the bikes out and he will have an opinion on the dark side.....and Ime sure I will too since I will try his bike out also before going dark side with mine.:D No matter he already bought my tire... Ime sure when we get to meet up with ya again Oz you can try one of ours out.......ya might like it......;)

:eek:I might just like it. I am not a fuddy duddy just yet but I am kind of accustomed to my hide and it's current placement upon my portly frame. I am sure that I would appreciate the quantity of rubber applied to the road surface on a straight and flat take off. It must feel better than the Metz and I guess that if I calculated the amount of curves I encounter compared to staright flats that I ride that the D/S would make sense. There are a few curves on the West Virginia Turnpike about 25 miles outside of Charleston that I could see an issue if I carried too much speed into the corner or if I had temporarily let my mind take a walk outside of my head. My arse could be "The Bear Went Over The Mountain". My arse doesn't matter in the great scheme of wordly matters but Ms. W is quite another story. "Grammy" would be sorely missed. We had the two Hellians over Friday night and when my eyelids closed in the recliner they attacked my toes. 1 and 3 year old girls trying to rip my toes out of their sockets:eek: is not the way I like to wake up. See y'all at the Campfire tonight for details of Rainmans ride.

I went over to the DarkSide for the price, was getting 3000 miles before the Metzelers were bald, I'm staying because of the safety.
I ride the Appalachians in WV, PA, Western MD.
Rt 219 N/S is one of my favorite roads, lots of twisties. Ebensberg PA down to Elkins WV.
