GiPro /w Timing Retard Eliminator

Bedifferent. Top job on the bracket and mounting of your GIPro

Thanks Blackthou, Talk about old school and doing it by hand with limited tools. Hacksaws, a drill press, and lots of filing. If I had still been teaching machine shop it would have been a lot easier and turned out better. Thanks

It is my understanding from previous posts I have seen that the Tune out ways anything the GIPro-ATRE would do. The ATRE function removes the restrictions, but does not change the overall horsepower and torque of the bike. The TUNE will change the overall horsepower and torque of the bike. Most people have suggested if you want to unleash the beast you need to reprogram the ECU. Other than gear indication, the GIPro would not affect the performance of the bike. As I said before, the GIPro only makes the bike perform better in the first three gears.
In the Triumph tunes, which contain information on fueling, ignition, closing the secondaries, top speed, etc., only how much the secondaries are closed and timing depends on what gear you're in. Closing the secondaries a lot, as they do on the Touring, significantly reduces power. So no matter how you manage it, you want them open 100%. Timing is beyond my pay grade.

I downloaded TuneECU and installed it on my laptop. I open Powertripps tune in the program and it looks like the secondaries are at 100% open. It's cool he fixed the speedometer error as well. It would be interesting to see what the stock map looks like so I could see the differences. Interesting stuff to look at.... I would like to understand it better.

I'm running a tune from @HansO I had bought the GiPro around the same time. Never even installed it and resold it. With the tune, it provides nothing other than simple gear indication. That's not a bad thing, but at least save the money and buy the basic version because the ATRE will do absolutely nothing for you performance wise. As others have said, it's good if you don't want to change the tune, but if you're already running an unrestricted tune, it's simply redundant.

Post your tune. Do you have TORs or any other mods on the Touring? I'll compare the tunes.

Perfectly clear.... Thank you so much!

I haven't put any Tunes on my ECU as I am afraid of voiding my warranty. The only Tunes I have are the ones I got from the TuneECU page. I was just looking at some of the maps I pull off the website to see how they were laid out and what they appeared to be doing. It was interesting to view them in the TuneECU program. I would like to see what the factory map looks like but I haven't offloaded it from my ECU. Still waiting on the cable and looking to see if someone has already posted it. I would like to see how it looks compared to PowerTripps. No TORS or changes other than the GIPro-ATRE.

which tune would you like to compare with the stock touring tune? Is there a Tripp tune you'd like to look at?
