General Motors Woes...

I've been a Ford Mechanic for 23 years and I can tell you that we have never done less warranty work. Ford's Quality is not the problem with their sales. I think they put all their eggs in the suv basket and don't make anything that gets 40 mpg.

I suggested he look at the new Toyota Tundras and that it will probably be my next.

I have a 2001 Tundra and wish I'd have kept my 1995 Dodge pickup. It's a nice ride and all that but the brakes stink, two very annoying rattles, and the air conditioner pump squeals like a stuck pig when the humidity is high. These are not major issues, except the brakes which have been troublesome for Toyota. I'm not happy with the ergonomics either, but at 6'4" I rarely am.

I wonder what kind of vehicles GM would be able to make if the slate could be cleaned and their costs were in line with foreign vehicle manufacturers currently producing in the US?
