gearbox and speed restricter and tuneboy

Yes it is true the speed limiter on the Classics and Touring is at 120 MPH. Guys with tuneboy or who got their dealers to upload a standard tune to their Classic machines are able to get the old 140 MPH limit or bypass. Touring riders will need tuneboy.

Obviously, hoagie did one of them options to remove the limit on his Classic, though I wouldn't be surprised if some Classic machines got loaded with a standard tune at the factory.

Just been speaking to the mechanic at my local triumph dealers !! as he loaded me a 22 something tune last week for de cat and tors on my classic .
He says that the normal rocket tune ie 20 050 might not upload on a classic ECU and mentioned lawsuits against triumph ?? and tuneboy is the best option to rid restrictions .

Into the mist but my tuned harley was almost there , dont see the point in a 2300 cc mega hp bike that would be blown by a z900 from the seventies ,and my 1999 vmax easily done 150 and had the converted 17in rear wheel conversion to run soft sport rubber and R1 brakes !! what do triumph think they're doing , the dealer told me when i brought the bike it was full power.

Must get the tuneboy now and come up for air

The Classic ECU is the same as a standard so it will take any standard tune. I did hear that Triumph added some kind of ECU tuning restriction to the Touring machines but can't recall what. Might be the beginning of a move by Triumph to make all ECU's locked down like Ducati's and other machines.

BTW, "full power" by Triumph isn't that. The full power factory tune gives more power than the other ones but definitely not true full power. Only Tuneboy can do that.
