Hey guy's,

Does this beast run fine on regular fuel or does it thirst for super unleaded.
What's the best fuel mileage you've gotten out of it?
My right wrist has a twitch which keeps the throttle cranked open most times.
Gotta get that twitch fixed.

Thanks,

I have actually tried the "Premium" gas. In the Valkye is seems to help. In the Rocket it seemed like it did too.

Then I went back to regular on both bikes and I can't tell. Actually fuel mileage seems to be better with the regular gas .

I had this conversation some years ago with Triumph USA because the manual said one thing and the later model handbooks said something else. The bottom line fromTriumph USA was to use regular, unless it pinged - then go up one grade. However, with programmes such as TuneECU it is easy to prevent any pinging if it were to occurby adjusting the timing.

So save your money and use regular - unless you have modified your bike to increase compression, and then use what the company supplying the mods suggests.

For a stock internally configured engine, use regular as it will give best performance. What's more important is to use a top tier fuel (for best cleaning properties). The top of the top tier here in the states are (in order of most cleaners added): Regular fuel- Exxon, BP, Shell. Premium fuel- Shell, BP, Exxon. There are many other top tier stations so it is easy to avoid the cheap fly by night stations.

I've never had a corn gasoline problem, ever. There may well be problems or it's just another internet phenomenon.

To answer the other question, Best was about 42. Once during break-in and the other time when doing a 450 mile ride with a bunch of Harley's who set their cruise at no more than 9 over the limit. Normal is between 30-35. And that twitchy right hand, not only is the majority of the problem, but it never goes away either !! BTW I'm doing that same ride in about a month so we'll see if I get similar mileage 15,000 miles later.
