Front wheel shimmy problem solved

When I broke the lock nut loose from the adjustment nut I could move the adjustment nut easily by using my fingers wtf is up with Triumph's assembly procedure?Never had a problem with my 13's steering head adjustment with over 42,000 mi. on it. The 15' only has 16,500 on it.

No ,they would not have checked them anyway you could not feel any looseness when pushing or pulling on the fork legs.just started having the wobble a couple thousand miles ago.It was a slight wobble at first when you would take your hands off the bars and got progressively worse.

That is a part of the 500 mile check. Do dealerships actually check steering head adjustment? Very few. Same with new bearings after about 500 miles you should go back and check free play by actually taken it apart and going through proper torque sequence. Free play with forks is a good check but in order to due it properly with new bearings or a new bike it should be a complete adjustment. I adjusted mine at 500 miles and found it loose even so no free play in fork check. Have adjusted mine twice since then (30,000 miles) Fork oil change will include new bearings and progressive front springs. :):):):):):):):):):)

I did mine like this......" get front wheel up off the ground , take all the gauges and crap off to get at the lock nut, loosen the lock nut , tighten the tension nut up as far as possible finger tight , use a flat head screwdriver and rubber mallet and each time you tighten the nut 1/8th flick the front wheel left and right , ideally you want the tension where it hits the stop and bounces back to the dead center , once you have it doing that tighten lock nut and put all the other crud back on.

Might work out OK for a Harley but not to sure about a TRIUMPH. I use a thin wrench 1 1/2 and a 1/ 1/2 socket, Follow what the manual specifies. Not saying that will not work but different strokes for different folks. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Worked for me , did it 20000 klm ago and it's still working

Yeah...my 09 has developed a head shake of late that I'm all but sure is the headstock. I'm just loathe to dive into taking all the crap off to get to the jam nut, etc. I'll get to it soon though.
