Hi all:
Been a while since on the boards. not sure if there is a thread on this, if so I've missed somehow. have been running darkside (Nexen 225/55/r16) for a year now and love it. will never go back to a mc tire again. seemed to recall seeing somewhere where a rider had went darkside and was also running a rear mc tire on the front. my questions as follows:
1; can it be done?
2; any negative or safety issues ?
3: any advantages?
the metz on front is getting slim on mileage left so now is the time to make a choice.
despite being an advocate for the darkside, I can't see the point for the front. On the other hand, Batman runs darkside both front and rear so why can't you?
If you are looking for alternatives to the Metz and Avon, I run a Dunlop D404 on the front and it works well for me.
No one's ever done it without changing the triple trees out too,
and running two 235's I think it was.
A guy in England did that,
check around for a car tire to fit the frontend,
if you find one,
I'll try it,
the cost of new trips was just cost prohibitave for me,
but if you can get one close to our size,
I'll buy it tomorrow.
