There is a screen size between the fly and full size it's the Roadster or summer screen it's about 4" shorter than full classic screen and has less bolt holes in the fixing straps

Ahhh! that explains it then. The one I got with the Summer 3 hole fixing straps has a full size aftermarket Clearwater screen with vent and 3 holes that is exactly the same size as my full size OEM Classic screen with the 5 hole chrome strap.

When mine arrived I was wondering why the upright straps did not perfectly match the holes and eventually when swapping over the upright straps from my full sized Classic screen realised the seller had put the left and right upright straps on the opposite sides when they installed the aftermarket Clearview screen!

OK - I'll admit that was AFTER I got 2 car scissor jacks and a couple of 2"x1" pine timbers and tried to align the hole thinking the straps must have been bent somehow!

I got it from Peter Stevens in Melbourne (03-83409424) but I wasn’t happy with the one they sent. There was 'bleeding' where it wasn't masked properly and the stripes weren't straight. To be honest 99 people out of a 100 would either not pick it or not bother about it. But being a Patternmaker by trade it would drive me crazy. From the Fly Screens I've seen the stripes don't appear to be same... some are wider and some taper towards the headlight end etc. When I contacted Peter Stevens about it they were really good about it and I highly recommend them.

Tony,
Gratitude for the dope on the "Summer Screen"!
Me thinks that's the one I want to try.
I really prefer "riding with the little man" (no shield) except for multi-day rides.
Problem is that as I go faster that little man on my chest grows into a 200 pounder!
My sans shield day rides are becoming a tad uncomfortable.
As I age all my football, MC racing and work related trauma is catching up.
Don't get me wrong, as I absolutely do appreciate being able to still ride at nearly 71 years.
Looking forward to riding another 10 years or so . . .

Guess I now prefer the Fly. Does anyone make a little taller Fly Screen?

I posted the details of one earlier!

The only intermediate size screen between Fly and the Full size options I know of that uses the factory mounts is an after market XL Flyscreen from David Gill's Rockes Patches - I have one and it is huge in comparison. It uses the same basic mould and shape just longer and slightly wider up top.
