2015 Rocket X no. 109/500
So the 2017 Street Cup has a fly by wire throttle, any tech heads out there know if that can be swapped over the rocket?, i know we have secondary throttle bodies, with a servo controlled by the ECU, can I order one of those servos and jury rig up a system that will work with this new throttle, or is this just a pipe dream?

Anything is possible with enough time, money, and effort. This project wouldn't be easy!

You could rig up throttle by wire on the R3, here is how I would go about it:

Remove stock throttle bodies. Create a set in Solidworks that has the provisions for the wired throttle instead of linkage. Have it CNC milled.

Buy, install, and tune a Megasquirt Pro to replace the stock ECU because it can control the wire throttle.

In the end it gains you nothing though and while I only listed two steps, within each of those is a huge amount of work and countless pitfalls.

What benefit are you hoping to gain by attempting to put fly-by-wire throttle system on the rocket? It's never been designed for it, I'm not sure what you think you'll gain.... Do what everyone else does and just wait, eventually they will add these changes to the rest of the Triumph lineup but it could be a while for the Rocket since its not the most high selling vehicle they have...

I recently sold my Rocket and bought a 2016 Yamaha Super Tenere ES.. it has the entire suite of electronics on it... So worth it! Half the power and engine size of the Rocket but when you press that cruise control button.... ahhhhh so nice.

For cruise there are other options. That's fairly easy.

If mama Triumph gives us the Bosche IMU then I'll consider a new R3. If they go cheap and leave off the IMU, any new rocket is dead to me.
