I am almost ashamed to say it but after getting my new Touring at the end of October I am now just getting around to going past the 500 mile marker and took my bike into D&D's for it's first service. A lot of things contributed to it, I've been sick twice, have had some pretty cold weather here in north Florida and buying a new Mustang at the beginning of January didn't help none either.

During the service I had them run my wiring for my Zumo 665 for a clean looking install and cleaned it up some myself while it was on the table...boy it was way dirtier than I thought so I still have some "deep" cleaning and polishing to do before I am happy with it.

I also got my new Sena SMH-5 Bluetooth helmet speaker system so on Monday I'll get around to installing it and getting it going.

Clearview is giving me a $28 take off on a new shield so I'll probably end up getting that as well along with my new Long Haul seat with backrest.

Getting ready for Daytona is a lot of work but I'm ready to get back to riding and hopefully the weather will keep improving.

See ya'll there.

Mine was due for its first service but they were booked solid for two weeks.i asked the dealer would I void the warranty if I changed out the engine oil? All good. His guy freaked later when I told him I did it myself.i said go see yor boss. So it's all good but , wot else do they do, as part of the first service?seems a bit of a scam to me. I have already adjusted the clutch cable and tightened every screw nut and bolt .

Molinoman, I know my perception of cold is going to be way different than yours, but 4 months to the first service?!? I guess Virginia was much hotter than Florida this year (after all we are very close to DC where most of the hor air is generated...) It took me almost a week to hit 500 miles. :)

Yeah cleaning a bike this size with all the nooks and crannies is a massive job. I need to do the spring polishing and detailing soon and like an idiot I figured it was a great idea to buy whitewalls for the bike too so that's not going to make detailing it any easier down the line either. :) Worth it, though - and I even got a wheel roller to put under the wheels so I can spin them for easier cleaning without having to hoist the entire bike off the ground.

Love my Clearview 19-inch with recurve. Those three inches on top and the recurve make all the difference going down the road for longer hauls.

I also picked up my R3R at the end of October, the odometer still reads 000000. It's been a long winter. If all goes well I will have my first ride this weekend, can't wait.
