Started the day by going on a 60 mile ride with some buddies. One of those great occasions where one of the CBR1000 riders was being an ass and said " It only goes 156mph? So that 2.3 is wasted then eh?" implying the R3 was slow...lol.
First ramp onto the freeway he very quickly learned that if I crack throttle first he's not catching me until well over 100mph, both bikes were in 2nd gear and there is no question he was trying by the note of his exhaust, no more comments from him all day
After some hard miles on the Avon rear, I am amazed at the lack of drama from it, smooth, no ill behavior and sticks like woah. It's basically transparent, as a good tire should be. Same goes for the new front springs, smooth, nothing strange just better control all around.
So the rest of the ride was about normal and fun. Came home and spent 3 hours working on the bike.
Reinstalled my Autotune.
Rewired the PC-V speed and temp wires.
Installed Black Ti axle pinch bolts, rotor bolts, caliper bolts, fuel cap bolts. Then installed the carbon dry fender after taking some weight measurements, removed the ***** seat, reinstalled my most angry tune, checked torque on key safety bolts, tires, oil, coolant, and pledged the hell out of the bike
So all that cut off 2 kilos of unsprung weight from the front wheel.
So, three months later and a couple of new parts here are some pics:
