I WOULD QUESTion the diagnoses.
what code or codes do u have? i can look them up if they are regular codes and not triumph pacific
is the motor running rough?.
vacuum hose problems, sticky linkage, idle control solenoid.
the guys could give a second opinion if wanted?
You can see the secondary throttle valve actuator here
Here is the fiche
You can see that the STA is not called out as a separate item
(it's shown as part of the overall assembly #1, but as the part just above the ISCV, it is not called out with its own reference or part number)
So - if that is the failure, then sure, whole TB swap as far as Triumph is concerned.
Again, should not be a problem being Warranty.
The good thing about my old Boss Hoss is there is still a carburetor and no sensors or computers or check engine lights. It makes up for all its technical deficiency by just adding cu inches. LOL
it could be the linkage stuck.
the ecu works the 2nd throttle actuator and the 2nd tps reads the position. that being said if either one being bad they could be replaced w/o the throttle body asy. the main tps have gone bad quite a lot of times.
i am not working on it but i guess u will find out.
I think you are right about the linkage sticking but wouldn't it un stick when you give it throttle? Aren't all three hooked together? They say they can not get the parts separately but is there some way to get the parts that they don't normally buy from?
