Exhausted from my exhaust search

R-III-R Turbo,
Looks to me to be some fine workmanship there!
So when can we expect marketing?
I'd love to have that exact header in a 3 into 1.
1olbull

that header design is a ripoff off the carpenter brute pipe header design except i went with a flange design that does not require springs, and the flanges are separate (not all on 1 piece) which i prefer, looks lot neater imo.
the flange adapters are aluminium so you cant weld the stainless exhaust to them, thats where the stainless flanges come from to go over them.

i could dig out the paperwork to get an exact price breakdown, but the whole system cost me just over €2000, if you were really interested.
parts 1500 or so, labour 500. to be honest the labour was cheap for the time involved but quality from my stainless boy is top notch.
i get him to make stuff for the pharma company i engineer stuff for.
anyhooo the cans were 350 or so from pipewerx uk, based on a hayabusa pair,, same goes for the flanges from carpenters and same for the 3-1 collector from burns stainless.
rest of the parts were cheap and locally sourced. only trouble is the stainless flanges, i have them on cad drawing as they are water jet cut, the holes are off centre.

if anyone is real interested i could get a system supplied

Just did the math and over $2700.00 US is too steep for me.
Thanks for the info - awesome job!

Yep...You're old :cool: Welcome to the club

I guess as you become older and wiser things like loud pipes aren't that impotant. I can remember the first thing i did to my RK back in the day was throw a pair of Sampsons on her. I was going to put the screaming eagle on the RK at a cost of $5K till i heard about the Rocket in 2005. The Carpenter sounds like the thing to do until you take a Busa for a test ride . Today speed and torque are more satisfying to me than loud pipes. Like Clint said, a man has to know his limitations.;)

Hey guys, just a stupid question but........ If I drill my Staintune pipes to make them a little bit louder, will that have an impact on fuel consumption ?

In my humble opinion mate, you'd be nuts to drill your Staintunes and I doubt it would do much anyway. They sound great the way they are and besides, you'd wreck them. Do you have a cat bypass fitted? That would make a bigger difference than drilling. If you have your heart set on drilling something get your hands on some stock pipes or TORs and mess with those. Just my 2 cents worth, mind. Best option would be to sell the Staintunes and put the money towards something that would give you the sound and performance you're after. If you want louder, Jardine might be the way to go (if you can get your hands on a set).

As for fuel consumption, I'm not sure what the direct impact would be but I do know that if you're anything like me you're going to want to hear the extra noise every chance you get so will be a lot heavier with the right hand = a lot more fuel used and probably rubber too. :D
