Exhausted from my exhaust search

There is a chance that I might sell my Preds this spring.
Paul before you do pull the heat shields put a 1/4 inch spacer behind them with longer bolts and some heat deflecting tape/insulation. That might take care of your heat problems. I am not sure what series you have so yoru heat shield might or might not be like mine.

I got to buff mine up with a rouge wheel and get them up fore sale. They are a good pipe sturdy , sound great at normal rpms and has a good bark when you open the throttle. My beast has just out grown them. I suppose they would be louder if you removed the wrap from the baffle but they have a hell of a crack when you getting on her the way they are.

i agree with wordwarrior on the roadster stock pipes sound, to me it is the best. it is loud enough to sound like a strong bike but civilised enough to not be another harley douche or annoying. this is why i wanted to keep the stock exhaust on after i carpenterised the engine.

but there comes a time when you want it maybe a little louder and definitely want the bike faster. i also wanted to get the cans up out the way for more cornering angle without scraping stuff. so after a lot of 'mad scientist' work i managed to build a custom system that to me sounds the same as the stock roadster pipes but greatly amplified.
also gave me a fair performance boost too.

Maybe I'm old or maybe I'm missing the point here but... Why buy a new bike then proceed to replace parts? The Stock exhausts on my 2011 roadster sound great. Sounds to me like you're spending money for spendings sake. o_O

Your not missing anything dude as Triumph would say GO YOUR OWN WAY!!!!!!!
The most important thing about your bike is that you like it f*ck everyone elses opinion !!!!!!!

Jardines sound great, but quality poor. Carpenter

yep! There was a time where I went along with others for a peaceful life but I was young and naive. As I rapidly approach 60 I'm of the opinion, if you don't like what I say/do, tough; that's me. That's why I bought an R3R in the first place. It's taken me a long time to come back to Triumph but my first was a shocking tiger cub from the 60's.
Old triumph joke: "How do you change the oil in a triumph? A: throw it on and let it soak in"

Well I have finally spung for a set of TOR's and a collector bypass/cross over pipe, should be on the bike within the next week or so..........then I guess it will be time to go see Mr Lush and get him to work his magic on the beast

Big difference. I can see that the numbers must have been interesting too, or something else. What was that about?
Do you have any pics of the full system?

a few yes :) the numbers showing there were about 225bhp (crank estimate - wheel reading was 192) and 200mph which is the dynos max but it revs way past that. we let the bike and moreso the petrol cool down then and did another run, which gave 245 on screen as the crank estimate, but measuring 207hp & 160ftlbs at the wheel

baffles in...
