Exhausted from my exhaust search

Just pull the string and go for the Carpenter Megaphone 3:1 system. From talking to Carpenter I'm thinking it's the ticket provided you open up the air flow as much as possible and have the correct tune.

Paul before you do pull the heat shields put a 1/4 inch spacer behind them with longer bolts and some heat deflecting tape/insulation. That might take care of your heat problems. I am not sure what series you have so yoru heat shield might or might not be like mine.

I got to buff mine up with a rouge wheel and get them up fore sale. They are a good pipe sturdy , sound great at normal rpms and has a good bark when you open the throttle. My beast has just out grown them. I suppose they would be louder if you removed the wrap from the baffle but they have a hell of a crack when you getting on her the way they are.

What are you looking at getting for these?

What about this exhaust system from http://bikemufflers.co.nz/rocket.html ?

Not sure if these were ever posted before but I just came across this NZ site with some of the most interesting headers I've seen to date.
Any of you fellows ever try these out. Look awesome! :)
I emailed them to find out more.....

Hi Tony
Thanks for the interest in the Rocket system.
This was a one off custom system, which worked out to expensive for me to mass produce.$4000NZD
Also system needed more dyno time as torque figures needed to come up more/ 141RWHP/140FT/LB
Pipes are black ceramic coated, heat wrapped headers, chrome heat shields ,2 1/2 inch bore S/S muffler.
Fitted with pod filters and re tune you could expect approx 145 RWHP.

lots of $ for not a lot of gain - no wander they are not producing them - VERY different looking pipes tho.....

I was first attracted because of the forward bend and apparent extra room for the right leg not to over heat.

Those do look sweet. The right leg heat can be conquered and defeated with the Dobeck Performance AFR Plus. Not only did I gain more than $2000 worth of pipes and intakes power, I lost the heat on the right leg.
