Exhaust paint

Have said it before, Hardy. Yours is one of the most striking Tourings around. Great job. Especially like the "fly inspired" job on the tank!

Oooohhhhhh soooooo puuuuurrrdddeeee

You've done a fine job with your bike. The attention to detail is superb. I really dig the small red/orange highlights that most would've ignored. Awesome job.

I was literally thinking about using high temp paint on the exhaust. It's what I did with the original exhaust on my Bonnie, and it worked wonderfully. Much cheaper than powder coating, but also not quite as good as powder coating.

mine are sandblasted and finished with powder coating. After 8.000 km with some long trips I can say it works.

Check this:

my bike after all the mods

I used high temp spray first. put it in my BBQ and gave him approx 300°C. It did not work at all. The colour was like powder afterwards and after first cleaning the colour disapeared step by step.

Think Sandblasting is a must. They used a very thick and sharp grain to blast the chrome.

I think I have some more pics on my computer what I tried to do.

anyhow good luck

funny that you remember my fly attack. This is the first time I did like what flys do. Better land on the tank than in a piece of sh**

Thank you for your input, Hardy.

The way I got the high temp paint to work on the Bonnie's exhaust was to first sand the chrome off, than apply the paint. Followed by baking the paint by running the bike.
