engine management light "on"

i guy
i do this on cars once and a while. take one of the battery terminals off(disconnecting all wires from terminal) then touch it to the other battery terminal.
it is what we call making the ecu brain dead. this might reset your ecu, but if you have a hard code it will not help.
while off try your throttle to see if it will work. if it doesn't your problem is not electrical.
like what was said the tps might be messed up inside or look for rocks or sticks in the linkage. hth

based on this reply the throttle is not held back by the ecu when everything is turned off yet it just rolls 1/8 of an inch and stop solid I checked the switch block , the grip, the lines behind the overflow bottle and I can only think that something in the tps locks it ..very weird . I have not gone so far as to remove the wires locks connected to the rotating wheel at the intake

If the throttle only moves a little bit then there is a physical blockage. It could be a broken throttle cable, or something caught in the throttle mechanism at the throttle bodies. It could be (although I have never seen this) a secondary throttle plate come off and jamming the primary throttle butterfly. I suspect that whatever is causing the throttle to not turn is what is throwing the CEL, not that the CEL is causing the throttle to lock up.

so how do you make the tune ecu software works when you see both files on the computer and when you click on either another window tells you window does not recognize this program blah blah blah ... piss on it..I ll just take the ride to the shop
Good day Albertaduke, the two files you have, one you said is a .dll file, what is the other, in Oder for it to install it needs to be what is called an executable or in other words should end in .exe.

I was just looking at the tune ECU site....lots of info, which version are you trying to install, the latest 2.5.5?

Okay, just for fun I downloaded tune ECU 2.5.5, latest version and the .zip file extracts to two files, one which is a .dll and the other is the executable, TuneECU.exe which is approximately 1.3 MB in size. If you double click on this file it should load.
It is also a good idea to update any FTDI drivers as well after the software install is complete.

Hope this helps a little, if not what error does your computer come up with when you try to double click the "TuneECU.exe" file.
Cheers

it not a broken cable as I can see the rotating wheel where the cables end turning when i rotate the throttle it is not the secondaries either because I removed them a while ago .
the stop is a very clean stop no hesitation no noise just a clean stop . I will let blackfoot motor look into it next week
what is the CEL?

the other file is the tune ecu exe

Answered my own question, windows software version not really important for tune ECU, just for the cable drivers.
On that note I would re download the software and then try to reinstall by double clicking on the .exe file

done that four time I even downloaded winzip hoping that would help but when I double click on tune ecu in winzip I get...zip ..nada running window 7

right click on it and see if you have the option to run it as "run as administrator"... then when you get prompted acknowledge it to run
