I just got my easy brackets. Its definately a nice setup. My only problem that I ran into was that it DID NOT line up correctly on the bags that triumph put on the touring model. It took some measuring and some drilling, but in the end I pretty satisfied with the setup. I'll add some pictures later if you all want.

I've been seriously considering the easy brackets myself. When you say they didn't line up with the Triumph bags, do you mean that the holes from the Triumph hardware in the rear of the bags didn't match the easy brackets kit? Did you find there was enough stiffness in the Triumph bags without further strengthening?

Mine are sitting in the pst office as I type. Ordered from Merica cos thats $200 with postage. From Europe is another £40 plus!
Will report back on alignment when I get em.
 
Thanks Trumpet. I will have the Triumph bags and brackets mounted as part of the original equipment on my 'SE', but would like to be able to remove them occasionaly, if for no other reason, at least for cleaning purposes! I think it will be a swine to get in and around the rear wheel with the bags in place...

I had also decided to order from the US. Who did you buy from?

I may as well learn from your efforts, so a report and pictures will probably prevent much swearing :twisted:

I mounted those on mine a few months back. It was pretty much my only option, since my exhaust comes up so much higher than stock, I needed the adjust ability.

When I first installed them, I had to use a rubber mallet to get them to fasten good enough to engage the lock.

After taking them on and off a few times they improved a bit.

I didn't use the triumph bags though. I went with cheap plastic hard bags.

I will only run mine a couple times a year, so I didn't see the point in investing a lot of dough.


My only complaint, is that the brackets seem to be incredibly heavy.
 
I've got these too, and they are nice, I can snap on the bags when I need them but run the rest of the time without, plus they lock on.

just really take your time measureing and placing the brackets on the bags to make sure you get it right and don't end up with a bunch of holes in your bags.

I made the mistake of not checking passenger peg clearance on mine, oh well she wants floor boards and more forward position anway.

figured when she can ride again I'll take her on the bumpiest road so I can convince her "we" need nw shocks and springs
 
Yeah I didn't measure at all and assumed that the holes in the trimph bag would line up but thats not the case. The bags were resting on the exhaust pipes. I ended up with a few extra holes, but its nothing a little black RTV won't fix. As far as bag stiffness, there is a thick plastic plate on the inside of the mounting side. Now worries there. The brackets are pretty heavy, but its a small price to pay for the convenience. I'll get some pictures of the bags on and off.
 

Got mine through ebay see http://stores.ebay.com/Cool-Gear the guys comms and emails are spot on and brackets are $10 cheaper but his postage costs seem to be $10 more than the guys Paul used????? works out at near enough $200 either way. Just send him a message through ebay for a price on rocket brackets posted to UK and you are away - tells you when they are despatched and when you can expect them. I presume the card i got today from Royal Mail is for my Easy Brackets?
Guess I'll find out tomorrow but not expecting any other parcels............
 
I also used Easybrackets, as I only fit the panniers when a back-pack just wont do.

The studs also come in handy as bungy points for the Rivco rack.
