When trying to start, gauges do their thing, lights on, but no vroom.Put it in gear, then back out of gear , and hey presto she starts! It would have to be the switch down near the sidestand wouldnt it?
Actually ,it couldnt be the sidestand switch as the motor will start in neutral on the sidestand.

I am inclined to think it must be a clutch switch or the neutral switch? Hopefully not a dodgy connection in the guts of the wiring!

Any one else have this happen?

Nothing to add...just don't want you to feel neglected. Could be sidestand switch, or perhaps maladjusted neutral switch? :?

REG START ISSUE

My bike doing samething normally in the switch on clutch lever .
When pulling in clutch lever pull lever slightly upwards at same time switch has plastic point against metal lever that wears with time.

Here's the schematic for the starter circuit. Not a lot to it. Get out your multi-meter and a mug 'o beer and start checkin' things out. 8)

Spot me the round-trip air fare and I'll be under in a heartbeat. And I'll even bring my own multi-tester. 8)

thanks for the schematic!I am guessing its in the Rocket workshop manual that i got off a captain before.Dont have a multi meter or even know how to use it, but i guess it aint 'Rocket 3' science!

Might have a look at the clutch lever switch a bit closer too...
