What a great day here in NC for a ride. Just got back from a 170 mile round trip up through Morganton on hwy 18 to hwy 181 to the Blue Ridge Parkway (which was closed) over to Spruce Pine and Little Switzerland on back roads and down 226A which is part of the Diamondback, then back here on 226 to Cherryville.
I had 226A all to myself, only had two cars coming up from the opposite direction the entire route. Unfortunately the road crews have sealed ALL of the cracks with tar which look like millions of snakes going every which way. They are still raised so my front tire tried to follow each and every one I came in contact with on my downhill ride. A little nerve racking but just took it slow. Don't know if this is a normal Maggie Valley RAA route, but wanted to put it out there just in case. I'll ride it again before the RAA in May and keep you posted. Looking forward to my first RAA meeting!
