Diagnose this

2006 Rocket III Classic with Cat eliminator and Tors. Everything else is stock. I have noticed that there is a build up of yellowish almost caramel color exhaust stain on the bottom of my beetle bag right side. Also noticing that first and second gear seem a bit restricted and "raspy" and the engine runs ragged at around 3k rpm in those gears. Third and fourth gear smooth with plenty of SMOOTH pulling torgue. Fifth no problem either. I run mostly 93 octane, some 89.


Getting ready for a 1500 plus mile jaunt in 3 days. Do I need to take it to the local shop to have the tune checked? Just had fresh plugs installed two months ago with fresh oil.

Try a little injector cleaner and use 87 octane. Your wasting your money on the good stuff. JMHO

I'll try that on the long haul. Don't like to run injector cleaner on the short rides around home. I prefer to cycle a treatment all the way through on a long haul with speeds from 65-75 . I may run it down and let the dealer check it this afternoon anyway. Thanks.

I want to eat. If gumbo is your specialty then gumbo it is. I have tried opening it up a bit more. Mechanic advises that he set it up "rich" on last visit. When I get back I'll have them lean it out a bit.

Try painting your bike black; that should fix it. If not, it'll make it faster.

Easy now, Judge ye not lest ye be judged yourself. I only describe what I see. If the TORS had about a 2 foot extension tube then it would ne a non issue but my Corbin Beetles cost to dang much to look this way and it looks like mustard gas residue. I only ask as there seems to be a plethora of engine tune officianados on all of the sites and thought that perhaps someone could offer up a possible cause. Singular issue I am sure and not worthy of a sticky,sir.

To agitate an Appalachian is tatamount to poking a bear in a cage with a stick and not noticing that the cage door is unlocked Me thinks that if I run some of my elixer through it shall burn cleaner than commercially avialable fossil fuels,.
