Folks..... So instead of the "joke" reason I gave that I chose to use the Bike Spirits, the REAL reason is it doesn't contain silicone. So any like product will do. I stay away from any product that do. I.E., Pledge, Maguires, Fake Breasts (old school, silicone type anyway).
I guess I just don't understand why Pledge is the be all, end all of detail products.... ON EVERY LIKE THREAD!
So the long version is: It is probably ok MOST of the time if you choose to use Pledge or anything else that contains silicone. or Pig fat, Duck butter, Slime, Astro glide, KY (not Kentucky) jelly, ect....
Automotive/MC paint is not Diamond hard. It IS porous. Over time, if these type products are used over & over (some OCD people like to "wax their Rocket"

every other weekend) the product gets pushed deeper & deeper into the porous micro cavities of the paint.
SOMETIMES, NOT EVERY TIME, if someone decides to repaint said vehicle, a problem crops up where the new paint reacts by breaking out with fisheyes (small holes where the paint.... usually the clear coat doesn't lay flat) - maybe just a little, usually a whole d@mn lot!
Yes there are great products out there used to "Prep" the surface (wax & grease removers, ect) before applying the paint and they USUALLY prevent the fisheye from happening, not always tho.
So to me, it's just not worth the risk, however small the risk may be.
So by all means, use what you like........... But don't say I didn't try to warn you
Now go out there & get that 18 pack, A new bottle of Mothers Polish, put on your best wife beater undershirt, and get to polishing your d@mn furniture with it so she will let you go ride your Rocket
@IMFASTTOO, I will jump on the Pledge bandwagon if you start splitting the residual checks with me
