DUDE!
1) You are not incorrect when you say that you haven't experienced any problems from the pledge.... I believe you!
2) If you have been smoking for 30 years & someone comes along & tells you: "smoking causes lung cancer" & you tell them: "I've been smoking 30 years and I've never gotten lung cancer!" - That doesn't make you are an expert on whether or not YOU will EVER get cancer............. Does it?????????????????
3) If you go ask your "PROS" if they have ever had a bad experience repainting something that fish eyed out because someone had used a silicone product when "waxing, polishing, detailing" their car/bike & they tell you No, they haven't. They are either lying or they haven't been painting very long & probably would NOT be considered PRO'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, AGAIN, I'm not ever going to argue with you or call you out on anything related to building engine performance, so please give me the same respect when talking about painting.
If you do decide to come back at me with yet more rebuttal, I will not respond so don't waste your breath. Instead go to the doctor & see if they will write you a prescription to help you out with your "little problem"

Oh, you asked me to tell you why I use the Bike Spirits product..... it is what the store had. I was hoping that they meant it literally... that the can is actually full of "the spirits of bikes". and I really like the Pink can, if I carry it around with me out in public I bet I can use any bathroom of my choosing ;)

Death Arrow 007, now look what you went & started.... There are 2 main things you don't ask about on this forum:
1) What polish do I use to clean/detail my bike
2) Are there ANY other bikes made on this planet that are worthy of even deploying a kick stand next to a Triumph Rocket III
     (Just messin with ya) :whitstling:
Now do like Sonny says & go grab that 18 pack! :whitstling:  :banghead:
HA thats good IM going to buy a new can of BIKE SPIRITS and try out their latest offering and also a can of the S100 that Ive used in the past you never know what the newest products are like untill you try them so ill get them tomorrow and compare the products I dont want to miss anything thats supposed to work that good BUT I would suggest that you stop smoking LOL

But it works really good. :)
It seems that 95 percent of the polishes have silicon as an ingrediant thats interesting and TOTAL MOTORCYCLE did a review on PLEDGE and they gave it 5 stars they love it look it up even Maguires has silicon as an ingrediant

Speaking of Maguires, has anybody had any luck using either of the polishing balls or that cone thing on aluminum rims? I'm thinking of getting that mini ball with the long-ish rod but I don't want to drop 22-24 bucks to find out it doesn't work.

Now that I think about it, I'm not sure if that's a Maguires or a Mother's product. Either way, I'm sure you guys know what I'm talking about and what I'm asking.

Folks..... So instead of the "joke" reason I gave that I chose to use the Bike Spirits, the REAL reason is it doesn't contain silicone. So any like product will do. I stay away from any product that do. I.E., Pledge, Maguires, Fake Breasts (old school, silicone type anyway).

I guess I just don't understand why Pledge is the be all, end all of detail products.... ON EVERY LIKE THREAD!

So the long version is: It is probably ok MOST of the time if you choose to use Pledge or anything else that contains silicone. or Pig fat, Duck butter, Slime, Astro glide, KY (not Kentucky) jelly, ect....
Automotive/MC paint is not Diamond hard. It IS porous. Over time, if these type products are used over & over (some OCD people like to "wax their Rocket" ;) every other weekend) the product gets pushed deeper & deeper into the porous micro cavities of the paint.
SOMETIMES, NOT EVERY TIME, if someone decides to repaint said vehicle, a problem crops up where the new paint reacts by breaking out with fisheyes (small holes where the paint.... usually the clear coat doesn't lay flat) - maybe just a little, usually a whole d@mn lot!
Yes there are great products out there used to "Prep" the surface (wax & grease removers, ect) before applying the paint and they USUALLY prevent the fisheye from happening, not always tho.
So to me, it's just not worth the risk, however small the risk may be.
So by all means, use what you like........... But don't say I didn't try to warn you :whitstling:

Now go out there & get that 18 pack, A new bottle of Mothers Polish, put on your best wife beater undershirt, and get to polishing your d@mn furniture with it so she will let you go ride your Rocket

@IMFASTTOO, I will jump on the Pledge bandwagon if you start splitting the residual checks with me :cautious:
