Hi guys, have looked through various threads and I get conflicting info. I have a stock 2007 rocket and want to make it louder. I've seen various posts about debaffelling. Some say you can and some say you cant so just looking for a general consensus. If yes what tools do I require?
I dont think mine has a cat and I have a lonetec cable to retune if required. On a separate note, I'm having intermittent starting issues
When bike is sat in neutral and I engage the electrics, the bike goes through all the usual checks and will sometimes fire straight up but at other times, when I press electric starter there is nothing and I have to keep pressing it till it eventually starts. When the bike does decide to start there does not seem to be an issue with starter motor as it doesnt struggle. Could it be a faulty side stand switch and can this be repaired/cleaned or do I need to replace

Must be my age , when I read the title I thought Linda Lovelace was involved 😂

DEcosse's advice - To help isolate the problem, turn your headlights to high beam, hit the starter button while monitoring the blue high beam indicator. If the light goes out and the starter does not engage then your problem is probably in the starter solenoid (or solenoid wiring). If the light stays on, then the problem probably lies within the starter circuit (starter button to the starter relay). I have problems with no start or starter engaging then dropping out after a couple of engine revolutions. The high beam light goes out and stays out while button pressed so I think my problem lies in the starter solenoid spring. For sh!ts and giggles I cleaned all contacts, connections, replaced starter relay and yet my problem persists. Someone on this site shortened his solenoid spring by 1/2 inch and it cured his no start problem. I may shorten my spring (after I measure the solenoid plunger travel). I'm just too lazy to pull the starter again as it always starts after a couple of attempts.

Ok bit strange, sometimes the bike will start and other times it wont, sometimes the clocks wont light, thus not doing its checks. However when clocks light up and bike wont start on button, I flick main beam on and it fires?
Electrical issue?

What's this for and where does it go?

Ok so I put main beam on and when i press ignition blue light goes out but back on if the bike eventually starts. It's very intermittent. I've took the starter housing on the handlebar off and given a clean but still intermittent starting, may have to start looking at the solenoid though another issue i sometimes have is when i turn the key, the clocks are dead and have to turn off and on again till clocks go on then it does its checks etc

Quessing, but it sounds like part of the problem is maybe a starter relay problem. It could be corrosion where the harness plugs into the relay. Also if you turn on the key and nothing happens, maybe an ignition switch? Where is DEcosse when you need him!
