2013 Rocket 3 Touring
I have had a few bikes, seems I like to flip them and then miss them and get another. It is expensive but thats what extras shifts are for i guess. I have had a 2005 standard which I wrecked and then a 2018 which had a output shaft leak that the shop charged 2k for which I did not like so I sold it. Mistake should of just had it fixed and kept the bike. Well now I have an itch for a r3 touring. Any bike I get I always try to make it a touring anyway so why not just start with one. I have a fjr1300 which I love and a zx14r which I love also but am afraid one of these days it will get me in trouble. So anyway decided to buy a touring and later possibly sell the 14. Was looking at a local one and it was sold out from under me. I think I will try (for the first time) to buy and have a bike shipped to my door. Wish me luck. Currently looking at a black and creme one with 32k.

Good luck, although if you are worried about getting into "trouble!!!?"
My Ducati was quick and I knew it, my big fat lazy R111 Touring (Tors and tuned) has me completely fooled, casually tooling along without a care in the world, till I glance down at the speedo, bloody hell! Good luck with the purchase, and keeping your license.

75mph does not always seem like it. Riding my fjr the other day and looked over to see a highway patrol looked at the speedo and 91. Did not get pulled over, thought I was getting a ticket for sure. zx14 have to by hyper vigilant because you could look down and be going well north of 100.

Congrats on your purchase! Just got a 2015 R3T last week and 1st time riding it on the highway at 80mph there was a LOT of vibration. I had to slow it down to 70mph to feel comfortable & confident. Had a 2011 V-Rod Muscle set up for touring and it was smooth as silk at 80+. Man, I miss that bike! Dumb ass cager looking to turn around turned right in front of me and I totaled my bike.. almost totaled my body too. I was fortunate with the injuries I sustained as it could have been a whole lot worse. As it was I lost 5pints of blood and had to be med flighted to the truama center. The R3T is going to take some getting used to for me. It's 200lbs heavier than my V so been taking it easy with her. Good luck and enjoy your R3T!

Check head stem bearing adjustment and tire choice is an issue.
Nearly all have moved on from original equip Mettzler fronts with some cupping and instability issues as they age and noticed most as speeds rise.

Thanks, It's at the dealership now so I'll ask them to check the head stem bearing adjustment. They put on new Metzler 888's when they prepped the bike for sale. I didn't have a say in tire choices. Most of the negative reviews about the Metzlers were about the 880's from what I've gleaned. Next set of tires will be the Avon Cobra Chromes for sure.

Sorry didn't mean to hijack the rocketbill's thread.

Keep us posted on what you think of those 888's.

Sorry about your wreck sounds like you are doing better now. Any bike should be smooth at speed and not shake, I mean vibes from the engine are expected but should not feel dangerous. I too am interested to see what you find out is the problem.
