Hi All, Been having erratic idle and stalling as of today om my 2012 Roadster, always fine in gear, but going back to neutral would make idle drop and almost cut out, all 3 cylinders. No codes, Idle speed control motor working, Gear indicator on Tach reading correct. Bike runs great except in Neutral, Unplugged indicator switch behind left filler panel and all is WELL, dead smooth. All grounds tight, all connector plugs checked along with pin to pin contact in the connectors for the indicator switch. Bike has 5,940 miles. Guess its new indicator switch time, out of the 2 year warranty. Anybody else had this fail so soon? Is this 2012 restricted in the first 3 gears on timing advance? Bike Has newR3.com Mufflers, Dobeck series 3 controller, triple K&Ns, secondaries removed. Throttle bodies are clean, unplugged Idle stepper motor and it made no difference, still cut out until I unplugged the gear indicator switch. Do not have tune ecu or tune boy yet, using my OBDII scanner to clear the codes, gives me some info. Thanks, Bill

There are separate maps for neutral, your Dobeck could be mucking up the neutral map in the tune. Or it could be that you don't ride enough - out of warranty with less than 6,000 miles - shame on you. :D

I can't help much with the cutting out in Nuetral problem :(

But I would be remiss if I did not point out that you live in the Gold country, with some of the most beautiful riding in Ca, and you have only 6K miles?:eek:

Shame on you Sir! Shame on you! ;)

Ian has a valid point and with no codes I would wonder if the dobeck has anything to do with the gear sensor yours might just need to be loosened up cleaned and re installed. It does strike me as funny once you take the gear position switch out of play it straightens out. I am not clear about the wiring on the roadster.

Yes I agree the Roadster has not been out as much as it should have!! I was out of commission shortly after I bought it, all is well now.. I disconnected the Dobeck and ran the stock set up with the same results, going to remove the switch after work today and clean/inspect reinstall. I ran the Dobeck for 3 months with no issues and have been satisfied so far with it. Will report back with findings...I knew there was some ribbing coming my way with that mileage:confused::D!
