Cruise Control-What r you using?

Cruise control

My first trip of any length, 300 miles from Chicago to St Louis to catch the Cardinals beat the Cubs.

The one thing Im really missing from my BMW is cruise control. Triumph said they were gonna have it as an option, but Im not holding my breath. What is everyone using? Im leaning towards a Throttlemeister, but Im open for suggestions

Plan to install Audiovox vacuum cruise to my 05 R3 SE. Heard good things about this simple install. Helboy

Cruise

I have been using a cramp buster. Works well because the weight of your hand keeps the throttle in position, makes it easy to increase or decrease speed as needed.

ve come against sort of a wall with the audiovox. I have all the parts sitting in a box. the problem is a vacuum pump. The R3, because of the intake runner design lacks enough vaccum to keep the servo energized at partial throttle crusing speed so you need to add a vacuum pump to maintain the vacuum in the tank and you need a small pump that cycles at a pre-set inches of vacuum. I found such a pump, it's the pump that engages the 4wd actuator on a Ford F350 diesel pickup. It's small, weatherproof and hard to find and thusly expensive. My quest is to keep the whole unit under 150 bucks. I've been checking bone yards with no luck for the past year. If I get lucky, I'll get the cruise on this winter

Everything else is real straightforward as far as installing the unit and everything is hidden behind the side tins except the actuator cable that pulls the throttle linkage. Hopefully this winter it will come together.

Like I said, I want to keep the cost under 150 bucks which will be fantastic for electronically controlled cruise.
