I have the young gun and I can say it is fantastic. I've had sargeant seats and corbins in the past and they are both huge improvements over stock. The young gun really helps the look of the Rocket too. The style simply looks better than the Triumph seats do.
Now, the seat is much harder which is why it's better. Much easier to slide around and change position on and much more supportive. You DO NOT want a soft seat if riding for extended periods of time. You also sit much deeper into the bike.
But because it is a harder seat, the bike will also now have a harder ride, especially with the stock shocks. When I switch to the stock seat to take the wife with me, the stock seat acts as a shock absorber and is more comfortable and softens the bumps to the rider for sure. I have changed to 13" Progressive 440 shocks (I highly recommend them since the stock shocks are complete crap) and the bike rides so much better that the Corbin is no problem. I would hesitate to recommend the Corbin with the stock shocks from a "soften the bumps" standpoint. It will certainly be less comfortable than the stock seat other than the added support for long distances.
Sorry to run so long so I'll finish here. I use the Corbin everyday and am completely satisfied. Not to sound overly dramatic but the worst ride of my life was a 3 day trip on the Rocket with the Triumph comfort seat with backrest. It was absolute torture. With the Corbin, no limits.
